The Employment Insurance System (SIP) aims to provide immediate financial assistance to contributors who have Loss of Employment (LOE) while facilitating their return to the workforce through Re-employment Placement Programme (REPP) and enhancing their employability through comprehensive vocational training.

Eligibility Requirements

Check the basic requirements that need to be met to be eligible for Employment Insurance System (EIS) benefits.

SIP Benefit Eligibility

Citizenship and Residency Status

Malaysian citizens, Permanent Residents (PR) or Temporary Residents (TR) working in the private sector or as domestic workers.

Age Limit

Employees aged 18 to 60 years (except for individuals aged 57 and above who have never contributed before).

Registration under Act 800

Employees must be registered under the Act 800.

Contribution Requirements

Must meet the minimum number of monthly contributions within a specified period.

Loss of Employment Criteria

Individuals who meet definition of loss of employment (LOE) under the Act 800.

Ready for re-employment

Fit for work, willing, and actively engaged in job search.

Job Search Allowance (EMP)

A monthly allowance provided to applicants during their job search period.
Paid for a duration of 3 to 6 months.*subject to term and conditions*
Eligibility period is determined by the applicant's total contributions.
Payment rates are set at 80%, 50%, 40%, 40%, 30%, and 30% according to the month eligible respectively.
Example of supporting document: Proof of job application.

Early Re-employment Allowance (EBSA)

Allowance for employees who return to work early while still receiving the Job Search Allowance (EMP).
Insured Person(OB) has received a job offer from the employer and has reported for duty.
Payment is made as a lump-sum 25% of the remaining unpaid EMP balance
Example of supporting document: Job offer letter.

Reduced Income Allowance (EPB)

Allowance for Insured Person (OB) who work for more than one employer but have lost one or more of those jobs.
Insured Person (OB) is not eligible for Training Benefits.
Payment is made as a lump sum (one-off).
Payment rate is based on the eligible amount of the Job Search Allowance (JSA).

Mobility Assistance Allowance (EBM)

Allowance for Insured Persons who need to relocate to report duty after receiving a new job offer.
Loss of employment as defined under Act 800.
A distance of at least 100km from the current residence to the new workplace.
A one-off payment rate of RM1,000.

Payment of Benefits to Dependant (BFOT)

Payment of the remaining benefits to the Dependants if the Insured Person has died/coma/unsound mind.
Paid to one of the Dependants.
Claim must be submitted by dependant.
Payment is based on the remaining eligible SIP benefit entitlement.
Example of supporting documents: Copy of dependent’s identity card, death certificate, marriage certificate, birth certificate, and bank account.

Training Allowance (EL)

An allowance paid to Insured Persons (IP) who attend training.

Loss of employment (LOE) application has been approved except for EPB recipients.

Attend training sessions conducted by training providers registered with PERKESO

Payment rate of RM10-RM20 per day based on attended training days.

Training Fee (FL)

Training fees covered by PERKESO for training provided to Insured Persons.
Paid directly to the Training Provider.
Fees include meals and training materials.
Payment rate up to a maximum of RM4,000.

Provision of individualized support services for employment facilitation and career counseling.
Registered via MYFutureJobs portal
Requires employment support services
Compliance with PERKESO guidelines
Receive free support services to facilitate employment and career counseling.
